Pangu (also referred to as Panku) is the Chinese deity that created heaven and earth.

For 18 thousand years, there was nothing but chaos, all wrapped up in a cosmic egg. The egg contained all yin and yang, good and bad, all opposites. Pangu slept for the 18 thousand years until he got fed up with the chaos. He took an axe and separated yin and yang, creating heaven and earth. He stood in between yin and yang and kept them apart for another 18 thousand years, until he became too old and exhausted. He faded away into the heavens and earth. His eyes became the sun and moon, his blood became the rivers and his limbs became the five major mountains in China.
